I think this is a difficult concept to grasp--the fear or God or having healthy fear of God. What does that really mean? As a baby Christian I find it a really hard topic to grasp and I know I'm not alone.
Could you point to any additional sources that can help someone understand the concept in more depth?
Sorry for the late reply. I was out of town yesterday. You're right about the fear of the Lord being a tough concept to grasp. In fact, it is downright impossible to fully understand, as I had written a couple of weeks ago in this devotional from Psalm 119:120, https://www.jonjcardwell.com/p/our-reverence-never-bows-low-enough. I mentioned in church last Sunday, while we were looking at “Godly Fear” from Ecclesiastes 5, that there should be a disclaimer on every book written on the Fear of the Lord: “We Don’t Fully Understand This!” Having said that, two books that may be helpful are (1) A Treatise on the Fear of God by the puritan, John Bunyan, which is available as a free pdf download at Chapel Library, https://www.chapellibrary.org/book/bufogo/fear-of-god-the-bunyanjohn; and (2) The Joy of Fearing God by Jerry Bridges, available on Amazon.com, https://www.amazon.com/Joy-Fearing-God-Jerry-Bridges-ebook/dp/B001RLBX4S.
Thank you for your comment and may the Lord Jesus continue to bless and keep you.
Thanks for replying and letting me know about both of those resources. I had to laugh at that statement, "Who don't fully understand this." It seems to me that we have a tough time discerning the the nuances between great reverence for something and fear of it. The fear of God is a great reverence for God, as I think I've learned and it is not fear in any human sense.

I mentioned our Sunday evening Bible study from Ecclesiastes 5 earlier, titled “Godly Fear.” It is uploaded on SermonAudio.com and you can listen to it here: https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=712232058272048
Thanks! I'll check that out.
