Many of you, my dear faithful readers, remember when I used to record the devotionals so you could listen to them when you drive, or do dishes, or just don’t feel like reading an email. Because my voice has been slowly failing, to the point that it has been wearing me out physically, ministering to Calvary Baptist Church each week, preaching and teaching several times per week, I have officially retired from the pastoral ministry. My wife, Lisa, and I left Alaska and said “so long” to our beloved church family in Ninilchik (I’m actually typing this from a hotel room in Fort Stockton, Texas; we’ll be in our new home, Kyle, Texas, tomorrow).
October 31, 2025, is the anniversary of Martin Luther nailing his famous 95 Theses on the castle door of Wittenberg Church, starting the Protestant Reformation and break from the Roman Catholic Church and her indulgences. Many Christians around the world celebrate the whole month of October as “Reformation Month.” I had not previously, but this month I am.
I’ve upgraded everyone on my email list. Everyone who has subscribed to a free account has been comp’d a full year’s paid subscription. Because I’m “retired” there will also be other article categories coming, as well as excerpts from my upcoming book, The Glorious Gospel.
