Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. Proverbs 10:9
INTEGRITY
The first part of this verse may be more accurately translated, “He who walks without blemish walks securely” or “Whoever walks perfectly walks securely.” There is no human being who has ever satisfied this verse more completely than the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus walked in the utmost security of who He was and what He came to do because He was Lamb of God “without blemish or spot” (1 Pet 1:19). False Christs will arise as Jesus said (Matt 24:4-5), but their wickedness will become apparent because their ways are crooked since they pervert the ways of God. The Lord Jesus Christ, however, walked a straight path because His way was the way of the cross.
Because of the corruptions which still remain in our mortal flesh, our integrity will slip, will slide, will fail. Nevertheless, if we have been saved by God’s grace, our security is guaranteed because it is not based upon the success or failure of our own walk but based upon our faith in Him who walked uprightly without fail— our Lord Jesus Christ. Our flesh, the enemy, and the unbelieving world will wag an accusing finger in the faces of our souls whenever we have sinned. Nevertheless,
if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 1 John 2:1
So eternally perfect, complete, and secure was the salvation wrought for us by Christ upon the cross that if…
we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Yes, here is wisdom: Do not trust
In our own righteous works;
For we’re secure in Christ alone,
According to our verse.
