For the LORD is righteous; He loves righteous deeds; the upright shall behold His face. Psalm 11:7
DEEDS
YHVH God loves righteous deeds because He is righteous. Apart from the grace of God in Christ, all of our righteous deeds are like filthy rags or soiled garments (Isa 64:6). Jesus Christ is the only Man who ever lived and died whose every deed was righteous to the core. Every thought, every word, and every action of our beloved Lord and Savior brought infinite, eternal, and majestic pleasure to the heavenly Father.
There are only two reasons we may behold the face of almighty God: (1) because of God’s grace to save us in Jesus Christ, placing Christ’s righteousness upon our account; called imputation; and (2) because of His grace to save us, in that Day, we shall see Him as He is for we will be like Him (1 Jn 3:2), making us immortal and incorruptible in the twinkling of an eye (1 Cor 15:51-53). Without these two things taking place, Christ’s righteousness imputed to us, and also the transforming of our mortal bodies at Christ’s return, when standing before the holiness of God, you and I would melt like a wax figure hurled upon the surface of the sun.
Now, although we are saved by God’s grace, and also that Christ’s righteousness must be declared upon our account, it doesn’t mean we should not do righteously; at least as righteously as a sinner saved by grace is able. YHVH God is righteous, and He loves righteous deeds. Therefore, His soul MUST hate the wicked and those who love violence (Psa 11:5); else He would be as wicked as those who love violence. If God was wicked and did not love righteousness, His love would be impure, imperfect, and insidious. Likewise, if we confess to believe in Christ and profess to love the Tri-une God, and then do not love righteous deeds, we deserve to have Him rain coals on you and me; and fire, sulfur, and a scorching wind should be the portion of our cup (Psa 11:6).
The LORD, our God loves righteousness:
The Son, in whom we trust;
Apart from grace, we could not bless
Our God the way we must.
