Psalm 106:3
Blessed are they who observe justice, and who do righteousness at all times!
RIGHTEOUSNESS
Surely, the Lord Jesus Christ is the only One who fits the bill with this verse. Jesus alone did righteousness at all times because He alone was righteous at all times. With our blessed Lord, there was never any slip of the lip nor misstep in His behavior. And we rejoice in this truth; or at least we should rejoice in it… at all times. Because we believe on Him and trust Him by faith, His righteousness is placed upon our account. The heavenly Father sees us through the lens of Christ’s righteousness… at all times! And therefore, our holy, heavenly Father delights in us at all times. As we were created to glorify God and enjoy Him forever (1 Cor 10:31; Psa 73:25-26), God enjoys and delights in us because of Christ. As the Father was well-pleased with His Son, He is just as well-pleased with you and me who are in His Son. For the Father not to delight in those He has saved is to suggest that the blessed and eternal sacrifice of the Son was imperfect, insufficient, or incomplete. Because of the blessedness of Christ as the at-all-times righteous Messiah, we are blessed at all times in Him. Though situations and circumstances may bring trials, tribulations, or temptations, in Christ, you and I are blessed at all times. Though we suffer sorrows and hardships, grief, and afflictions, you and I are blessed at all times because we are in Christ Jesus. Although the world hates us, cavilers persecute us, and the minions of Satan oppose us, we are blessed at all times because Christ promised to never leave us nor forsake us (Heb 13:5). Hallelujah! What a blessed Savior indeed!
We praise the Lord for He alone
Was righteous at all times;
Christ’s perfect life God says is on
Both your account and mine.
