1 Chronicles 27:31
All these were stewards of King David’s property.
STEWARDS
All of life, whether one is saved or not, is a matter of stewardship. All human beings, from Adam to the very last person born before the judgment bar of Christ is set in the end of days, are responsible for what God, by His grace, has given us. Even the wicked, Gospel-hating, Christ-rejecting caviler who defiantly takes each God-given breath is accountable for every heart-beat God has allowed; for in His sovereign might, not even the bird that wings in the air can even die mid-flight and fall to the ground without the Father’s explicit nod (Matt 10:29). Every created man, woman, and child has the basic understanding of the eternal God’s power and deity, as it is written,
For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:19-20 (emphasis added)
Yet you and I, saved by God’s grace through Christ, receive a blessed role in stewardship. Like those listed in verses 25 through 30, our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life; and we’ve been given responsibilities “over the King’s treasuries” (1 Chron 27:25a). Each of us are stewards of the treasure of Christ’s gospel; yet as individuals, each one of us has our varied, exalted, and heavenly tasks, whether “in the country, in the cities, in the villages, and in the towers” (1 Chron 27:25b). It is an honor, privilege, and blessing to serve our King, the Lord Jesus Christ. And despite the frailty of our flesh, as when Christ’s servant, David, numbered Israel (1 Chron 27:24), Christ’s kingdom grace has…
…seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6
In this precious, privileged seat, we are responsible for His every treasured resource. Hallelujah! What a Savior!
The blessings from our Christ and King
Are plac’d in our own hands;
As stewards, let us praise and sing
While keeping His commands.

Enjoyed this very much. I loved this line: "for in His sovereign might, not even the bird that wings in the air can even die mid-flight and fall to the ground without the Father’s explicit nod." His sovereignty allows us to feel peace. Thank you for your good words today.
