10/15 Reading Portions: 1 Kings 18; 1 Thessalonians 1; Ezekiel 48; Psalm 104
Psalm 104:5
He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved.
FOUNDATIONS
The earth was set upon its foundations; yet these foundations are not the properties of physics upon which the scientific world operates. The foundations upon which this world has been set are the truths of Jesus Christ crucified and risen from the dead; for Jesus is the precious Lamb of God slain,
…foreknown before the foundation of the world. 1 Peter 1:18-20
The world was created through Jesus Christ (Heb 1:2) and for Him (John 1:3). Until all things are accomplished by the Lord Jesus in the fulfillment of all of God’s declared truth, the earth will, therefore, never be moved. Until the return of Christ Jesus, climate change is therefore a crock, according to God’s holy Word and prophetic truth.
We, Christ’s redeemed, are likewise immoveable while upon the earth. We should never be moved from the foundation upon which we have been set— the Lord Jesus Christ, crucified, risen, ascended, and coming again. It is written:
For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11
And again:
In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:4b-6
And again:
And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
Jesus Christ is the reason for every season and the foundation of all things God has ordained. This is a tremendous reason to rejoice. It is also a source of great strength in faith and growth in grace. Hallelujah! What a Savior!
The earth’s foundation’s set upon
The truth of our Lord God,
And Jesus Christ, God’s only Son;
All else are lies and fraud.
Therefore, we rest upon the truth
The Holy Spirit’s laid;
Christ gave His life, to nail and tooth,
Our debt we owed, He paid.
