And I will make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth. Psalm 89:27
FIRSTBORN
Although Christ was born after Adam, after Abraham, and after David, God the Father has declared the Lord Jesus to be the firstborn among many brothers (Rom 8:29). Jesus is the eternal and preeminent King of kings, and because He is most excellent as the Man unsurpassed by any other man, past, present, and future, He receives the full inheritance of the heavenly Father. He is eternally worthy and deserving of every blessing bestowed by God.
Because we are in Him, because we are regenerated beings (Ezek 36:26), and new creations in Christ (2 Cor 5:17), the Lord Jesus bestows upon us every inheritance in Christ (Eph 1:11-12). Ultimately, we will receive His glory and happiness in our eternal abode, where this corruptible puts on incorruption (1 Cor 15:52-54); and having a glorious new body like unto Christ (1 Jn 3:2), we will be able to worship and honor the highest of the kings of the earth in the holy, glorious, and unhindered manner He so rightly and richly deserves. So preeminent is Jesus, that His holiness is ceaselessly declared by the heavenly host (Rev 4:8). Moreover, we will constantly lay down our crowns at His precious, nail-pierced feet each time we hear the glorious proclamation of the four living creatures (Rev 4:9-11). All hail King Jesus! Hallelujah! What a Savior!
The chief and firstborn of all kings
Is Jesus Christ, God’s Son;
To Him let us our praises sing,
Forever, everyone.
